Not much light shines on old MetroPCS these days, due to high end smartphones dubbed superphones on other networks. MetroPCS is trying to stay in the game with there release of the LG Esteem, which will run on there 4G LTE network. The Esteem comes equipped with Android 2.3, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 5MP rear facing camera, 1.3MP front facing camera, 720p HD video capture, and an HDMI out port. Not surprisingly, this handset will run you $250 with a mail in rebate, but then again you wont be tied down to the carrier with the old pesky 2-year contract. The handset will be available this week so keep your eyes peeled online and in store.

We’ve all heard about Verizon’s new 4G LTE haven’t we? If not check it out. John Stratton, the chief operation officer  recently mentioned that LTE smartphones are on the rise, and that’s a good thing as LTE was just released nearly a month ago with MetroPCS getting in on the movement as well! Apparently Motorola will be one of the first to release there LTE smartphone offering, unfortunately there’s no word on the specs of this new LTE smartie so we’ll just have to wait for that.

There’s no doubt other makers are gonna throw there hat into the pile on this movement, and there’s already word on HTC and LG getting in on the game for sure. What an exiting movement this is, lets see if where all ready for the new LTE smartphones coming next year huh.
